eBOOKS
I recently finished Volume 2 of the two-volume eTextbook on Equine Reproduction with Dr. Patrick McCue of Colorado State University's Equine Reproduction Laboratory. Previously, I worked with Dr.McCue and Dr. Ryan Ferris on the production of the interactive eBooks on equine reproduction case studies that are available on iTunes. They supplied all the materials, writing, photos, and raw video footage and I edited the photos, videos, added voice-overs and built the books in the iBookAuthor program. Along with honing my production skills, and mastering new software, I learned a lot about disease states that can interfere with normal reproduction, how veterinarians diagnose the cases, and the methods they employ to increase fertility success, manage disease, find mares who will accept orphan foals, and a variety of other fascinating cases that they handle on a daily basis.
Clinical Equine Reproduction eTextbook Volume 1 & 2
The goal of this eTextbook is to provide a reference text for veterinarians, theriogenology residents, veterinary students, graduate students, undergraduate students in animal or equine sciences programs, horse owners, breeding managers and others interested in clinical aspects of equine reproduction. Each volume is filled with photographs, original drawings, and videos to assist with understanding key concepts.
Volume 1 begins with development and disorders of the reproductive tract, followed by stallion anatomy, physiology, reproductive evaluation, and reproductive problems. Subsequent chapters describe anatomy and physiology of the mare, reproductive problems of the mare and concepts of breeding management. Overall, this eTextbook on Clinical Equine Reproduction is designed to enhance the knowledge of people responsible for reproductive management and health care of horses.
