My enthusiasm for science is at the heart of all the multimedia materials I write and produce. As a graduate student at Colorado State University studying rangeland management, I focus on livestock health, nutrition, as well as rangeland ecology.

Used iBook Author to create a multimedia interactive eBook of clinical case studies written by Dr. Patrick McCue, DVM and Dr. Ryan Ferris, DVM entitled “Clinical Cases in Equine Reproduction Vol. 1 & Vol. 2” published on iTunes, “Clinical Equine Reproduction” textbook in production.

Designed and wrote team newsletters mailed to 600 households. Developed and deployed Facebook media plan, increased followers from 200 to over 700. Pictured 28 bulls for the catalog. Built and launched 40th Annual Bull Sale website. Filmed and edited 35 videos for the website including overlays, and voiceovers. Worked with the graphic designer to update the catalog for the 40th anniversary.

Range Beef Cow Symposium

Developed and deployed social media campaign focused on event promotion and increasing young producer involvement on Facebook with a 1,300 weekly reach average, and Twitter 556 live-tweets over the three-day event, and was re-tweets by “Angus Journal” and “Beef Today.”
 
Equine Genetics Writing Intern                               April – December 2015

Received training in advanced equine genetics. Wrote material about genetics in laymen’s terms for two projects, Equine Genetics 101 and The Genome in My Horse. Wrote a discovery article about the genetic basis of Lavender Foal Syndrome.

Wrote catalog notes for two sale horses describing their pedigree with point and money earner standings. Photographed consigned colts and their student trainers for candid shots used in the sale catalog, collateral material for consignors, and Facebook social media marketing. Prepared and executed Facebook marketing plan. Prepared press releases for the sale and coordinated with CSU’s Public Relations department for their distribution.
